GIPPSLAND FLOODS
WATERS NOW SUBSIDING
MELBOURNE, April 23.
The flood waters are . subsiding in Gippsland, but the township of Tinamba is still isolated, with two feet of water in the main streets. Many families are marooned in their houses in other submerged areas.
The State Premier said that the Government, had called for departmental reports concerning the- best methods of preventing and minimising floods in those areas which regularly suffer from them. The Government Was prepared to take immediate action to apply a remedy.
