NEW ZEALAND DELEGATIONS
(To ilio Editor.)
Sir, —During the last few yearw thousands of pounds have been spent sending delegates to conferences which have proved fruitless. The Prime Minister left about a week ago to attend the Jubilee of the King. Now the Finance Minister has left to assist the Prime Minister in finalising the meat problem. ■To assist him the Public Service Commissioner has been asked to join the party. Accompanying the Ministers are their wives and private secretaries. Could not the High Commissioner (who by the way is a legal man of high standing) act as legal adviser? If we cannot find a suitable market for all our meat, butter, and wool then make it cheaper here and we' will consume more.. Now last but not least the chairman of the Railways Board is also going abroad. Is it not time to call a halt to all this expense?—l am, etc.,
FAITH IN NEW ZEALAND. [Several other correspondents have written to the same effect.—Ed.]V;.\
