SKATEWAYS.
The 1935 skating season opened on Saturday evening at Skateways,. Vivian Street, with a record attendance. The rink has been? completely renovated and redecorated, and is now one of the'bestappointed skating"houses in the Dominion. The Skateways management has engaged a staff of. skilled instructors,, and patrons are promised every :attention and assistance in mastering the fascinating art of skating during the winter months. The rink is now open daily from 10 a.m. A session for college students will be, held on Thursday afternoons, from 3. to 5, and on Saturday mornings children's, sessions have been arranged, from 10 to 12. The evening sessions i commence at 7.30. A special feature is the learners' class, from 6 to 7 p.m. daily. ,
The Palmerston North branch of the R.S.A. will benefit to the ;extent of at least £178 as a result of Poppy Day collection on Saturday,,reports "The, Post's" Palmerston North correspondent.
' C. W. Price and Co., 91Dixon Street, will sell a baker's stock-in-trade in the mart, at 10 a.m.; at 1:30 .p.m. they will sell household furniture; and: on VVedoesday, at 10 a.m., stock of a shop at 56 Taranakj Street. ;
