PIGEON RACING
Tlie Hutt Valley Homing Club flew a young bird race from Tailiape, a distance of 115 miles, last Saturday. Twelve members competed with 68 birds, which were liberated by the stafciomnastcr at 11 a.m. on Saturday in fine, clear weather. The following are the first eleven plaeiugs:—A. Barnes's Starlight, 1153.7 yds per minute, 1; A. Bold and Soii'b bird! 1111.1 yds, 2; R. Reid and Son's Master Pam, 1110.4, 3; G. Woodward's War Bob, 1107.9yd5, 4; R. Clark and Sons' bird, 1079.4, 5; D. Andrews's Black Sea, 1075.8 yds, 6; C. Philp's Comedy King, 1063.5yd5, 7; J. Dallenger's lied Sun, 1057.6yd5, 8; E MeMahon and Son's Geebung, 1056.2 yds, 0; W. Bond's Rear-Admiral, 1053.3 yds, 10; J. Hardgrave's Baby, 1040.1 yds, A Bold and Son won the nominated bird pool. The result ot the show was as follows:— K. Reid and Son, 1: A. Bold and Son, 2; D.
