WOMEN'S CRICKET
WANGANUI V. WELLINGTON
Women's cricket in Wellington Has' attracted a good deal of interest this season. Apart from the inter-club competitions there have been several events of importance, raotable among which was the visit of the English team. In all their matches the Wellington representatives have put. up creditable performances, and' ihe season is not being allowed to close without a final flourish. This is bfcing provided in a representative match with Wanganui, to be played at the Basin Reserve on Saturday. Eafiier, in the season Wellington defeated Wanganui in the special North Island competition at Wanganui, and in'Satr, urday's match the Wanganui representatives will be striving hard to turn the .tables. They play good cricket, as do the local girls,. and the match should be an excellent end-of-season attraction.
The Wellington team is:—l. M. Pickering (captain), H. Buck, P. Brogan, L. Harris, J. Holmes, D. Hatcher* A. Ell, N. Sheridan, J. Mack, J. Watson, and D. Simons, with J. Mack, J. Stenberg, and C. Robertson as emergencies.
