RARE PICTURES FOR SALE

Mr. J. P. Morgan, senior partner of the well-known banking house of that name, has offered six of the rarest pictures in his famous collection for sale. It is estimated that the market value of the paintings exceeds £300,000. Two have already been bought by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the remaining four will, it is expected, enter private or public collections Better known as a buyer of works ol art than a seller, Mr. Morgan was asked the reasons prompting his action.
