DOMINION AWARD SOUGHT

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

An application for a Dominion award by the New Zealand Federated Biscuit and Confectionery Industrial Association of Workers was heard at a Conciliation Council today. Objection was raised to" the proceedings on the grounds that the Wellington' and Nelson districts had no organisations competent to act for the workers,

The main questions in dispute were the wages for youths and female workers. The employers had increased their last offer of 13s 6d to 15s for youths during the first six months and of 11s 3d to 12s 6d for females ( during the first six months.

The employees are considering the amended offer this afternoon.
