PLUNKET SOCIETY
HATAITAI BRANCHY WQRK
The thirteenth annual meeting of the Hataitai branch of the Plunket Society was held recently. There was a very good gathering of subscribers and supporters, and great interest _ was shown in the'annual report and the report of the car committee. The president pointed out that funds had been exceptionally hard to raise'during the year and stressed the point that those who received the benefits of the society should be the ones to support it as subscribers. The nurse had made many visits to homes in the surrounding suburbs, and many mothers had visited the rooms. This showed that 'the society had' a wide field from which :to draw support. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. Edwards; secretary, Mrs. W. L. Britton (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs Baigent; committee, Mesdames Biss, Blakeley, Bridgman, Coates, Evans, 'Dunlop, Hardie Boys, Luke, .Murdoch, Marshall,"Tennent, Wilson, Dowsett, Reenberg, : and Miss Peach; auxiliary committee, Mesdames Bolland Edwards', Williamson, Chapman, J. Mills, and Emerson; advisory board, Mr. Hardie Boys, Dr. E. H. M. Luke, Dr. A. A. Tennent, Dr. M. M. Mcßae, Dr. J. Zohrab, Messrs. Ardell . and Leigh Hunt. ■~*«. . Votes of thanks were passed to the trustees of the Methodist Church for the generous use of their rooms all the year, and to Mr. Leigh Hunt for taking the chair for the meeting. The meeting concluded with some delightful songs by Madame Merlin and clever recitations by Miss Monica Williams.
