MOTOR-CYCLE MISHAPS
One hundred and : twenty-six new members were elected at last nights meeting of the executive committee of the Wellington Automobile Association. The finance committee reported that the substantial increase oi income in comparison with ■ last year had been maintained for February oi 1935. The current year showed an increase of £393 over last year in respect to income. Attention-was drawn, to and concern expressed about the large number oi accidents taking place in which motorcyclists are involved, and particularly in the case of motor-cyclists with pillion riders.. "The percentages of accidents in which motor-cyclists'rare involved are always high in relation to those in which other vehicles are involved," said the report of. the roads committee, "and the committee again cannot stress too strongly the necessity , for the exercise of very great care by motorists when meeting motorcycles." It was the increased incidence that caused the committee concern, said Mr. E. Palliser. There was need' for mord care on the part of motor-cyclists .also, said the chairman (Mr. E. A. Batt).
