Members of "the Parliamentary Press Gallery laat ■/evening socially farewolled two of their colleagues - 'Nr. H. 1.. Forde, of the "Evening Post", who is leaving for England next week to continue his economic studies, and Mr. L.'Jillett, of the "Hew Zealand Herald", who next month will take up a journalistic position on the-Melbourne "Argus". Both have been as prominent in efficient Gallery work as in popularity for their personal attributes. The guests included the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G.W. Forbes, the Minister of Finance, Rt. Hon. J.G. Coates, the Leader of the Opp- V osition, Mr. M.J. Savage. Politics and reporting were forgotten for a time, and the pleasant speeches were of the kind that are treasured without the need of a printed record. l In the afternoon a special meeting of the Gallery elected Mr. Jillett chairman for the remainder of the session, and Mr. Terence F. Reilly, of. "The Dominion" as vice-chairman.
