1 (Received March 25, 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, March 25. At the wool eal«e to-day 0884 bales were offered; 9522 being sold at auction and 643 privately. With strong md general competition from all sections, the market was five per cent, above the closing rates of last week, all descriptions sharing An the advance. ■,- Full and satisfactory clearances were made. Greasy merino sold to 18d. The average price of the wool aold lasr week was £12/3/4 a bale, or 9.8 d. per lb. Ihe Petone Bifle Club fired a further competition counting for the third handicap spriM and Loiigfield handicap aggregate at Trentham on Saturday, the range being 800 yards. The best range s>core for the day was secured .by P. Stewart with 47, followed by W Jackson 46 (two "birds"), and P. Stewart 43. The best, aggregate off the gun was registered by P. Stewart with 02. -W. M. Jackson totalled 80, T. McNaD 87. Next-Saturday the- shooting will count for the same competitions, the range for the day to be 800 yards.
