MR. S. MINHINNICK
A notable athlete of his day, Mr. Stephen Minhinnick, died at Normanby, in the Taranaki Province, recently, aged .75.
He had an outstanding record in track and field events,, and it has been stated that he was never beaten. His most notable achievement was. at Hawera on New Year's Day, 1881, when he "scooped the pool," winning nine events, all off scratch. On that day his winnings totalled £94.
