COMING BRITISH BUDGET
London. March 231 Preparation of the Budget la now in full swing, 'i'he "Dispatch" believes that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kr, Neville Chamberlain, must arrange extra expenditure for the next twelve months of at least £35,000,000, and accordingly he will only be able to Implement pledges to restore the remaining 1931 salary cuts, and make Income tax allowances which will abaorb £11,000,000. The Chancellor will not give further relief In any direction, but will announce a public works policy accompanied by fresh Government borrowing while money is cheap. Mr. Chamberlain expects an increase in revenue owing to bigger Industrial profits and better returns from customs, excise, stamps and petrol.
