LONDON, February 26.
Jocularly retorting to Sir James Parr's tribute to his impartial chairmanship of the meat discussions, Mr; J. H. Thomas, Dominions Secretary, presiding at the farewell luncheon to Viscount and Lady Galway by the British Empire Society and kindred societies, said: "It takes some drumming into the heads of Dominion people that there is such a thing as British agriculture. My advice to Lord Galway is to refrain from discussing meat with the wily New Zealand politicians. "Lord Galway is a great public figure and soldier. He began his political career simultaneously with myself. The nation has benefited by my, services and New Zealand is now benefiting by Lord Galway's." Lord Galway explained that he did not regard his appointment as an adventure, but merely as leaving one home for another. He paid a tribute to New Zealand's maintenance of Imperial traditions. The guests included the Earl and Countess of Liverpool, Lord and Lady Allenby, the Earl and Countess Jellicoe, and the Marquess of Crewe.
