IS THE COALITION ON THE WANE?
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Haying'been a supporter of the Coalition since its inception, I am led to ask the above question. In my humble opinion the Coalition has lost the confidence of thousands of its supporters of the last General Election, and my forecast of the result of the next General Election in November is that the present Government will lose over twenty of its present sitting members. They will have no one to blame but themselves. It i is, in my opinion* the weakest Cabinet that has held office in' New Zealand for the last twenty years. The two best men that Mr. Coates has representing the Reform Party in the Cabinet he let go, because they could no longer support the drift-drift policy. In, the important vote on the Mortgage Bill (second reading) the Government had a majority of eight out of 80 members of Parliament. Goodness knows how it is going to come out" of the third reading if all the members vote as they have spoken and have the courage of their opinions to vote country first and party last.—l am, etc., INTERESTED VOTER.
