A BAD APPROACH
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Having lived on Rongotai Terrace and paid- rates .amounting to nearly £10 yearly for. eighteen years, and having suffered two or four times daily from the state of the entrance, or approach to the terrace from the train shed,. I wonder if the time has not come when a long-suffering residential i Community could receive a little attention from the bitumen works about 200 yards away? The approach is ankle deep in mud or. dust, according to the elements, uneven, steep; and is surmounted with two steps, making it a dangerous and almost impassable way for elderly folk or mothers wheeling young children in prams, while-, for ordinary, folk it is dirty and dangerous. —I am, etc., DIRTY SHOES.
