LONDON, Jauary 19. According to "The Citizen," a Gloucester newspaper, Lord Bledisloe will be given a warm welcome when he returns to Lydney. Lydney and Aylburton Parish Councils, further discussed arrangements for his return, says the journal.' Mr.;* 1. H. Yeatman (vice-chairman)^described Lord Bledisloe as "probably the most illustrious man. who ever lived in Lydney and the locality." They owed a great deal to him before he went away, and might owe a great deal to him when he returned. It was decided to invite representatives of various organisations to confer with the council in preparing the details of the proposed welcome for Lord Bledisloe. ' Mr. and Mrs. G. Muntz (Wellington) have booked passages by the Strathaird, leaving Tilbury on January 25. The are returning: to . New Zealand. . Mrs. F. A. Hornibrook (Ettie A. Rout, formerly of Christchurch and Wellington) has arrived in the United States, for a three months' lecturing tour on her special subject of Health and Exercises for Women. Her programme ■ has been arranged for New York, Detroit, and Chicago,- but other cities may be included. She is a very convincing speaker. Mr. Hornibrook leads a busy professional life in London. His well-known book, "The Culture of the Abdomen," is in its ninth English edition, while translations into Danish, Swedish, and French have been made. The French edition will be ready in May.- . ' The Orontes, leaving on January 19, win carry a few passengers i booked through to New Zealand. These will include Mr. and Mrs. H, H. Moseley, Mr. and Mrs. A.. Totman, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. F. Williams, Mrs.'. Fair,; Mrs. de Strzelecki, Miss N. E. Totman. ; Miss Agnes Stops, who has been responsible for founding 300 women's institutes in various part of the world, is to set-forth again to visit New Zealand, Ceylon, and South Africa. She expected to be away for 18 months. Before sailing she will complete her tour of; : Northamptonshire (her home county), in .which she is giving talks to institutes. Miss Stops has been to New Zealand on two previous occasions.' ;". '■-.' '.- . ■' • . One of.the'season's debutantes will be Miss Eileen Rhodes, eldest daughter of Captain and the Hon. Mrs. Tahu Rhodes. Miss Rhodes, who is on a visit to Egypt, will be presented at a June Court, by her mother, who first will be presented by her sister-in-law, Lady Plunkct. Owing to the war, the Hon. Mrs. Rhodes-was not presented on her marriage.
