GIRL MAIMED BY SHARK

SYDNEY, February 6.
There jias been a remarkable public response"to Press appeals'on behalf of the girl Beryl Morrin, who lost portions of both arms from a shark attack in George's River on New Year's Eve. A sum of almost £2700 is already in hand from which it is intended to provide a pair of artificial arms. The girl is now practically convalescent.
Two vicious attacks, believed to have been made by the one shark, took place in George's River, near Sydney, within three hours late on New Year's Eve.
Richard George Soden, aged 20, had his ihigh badly ripped, "succumbing to his injuries in hospital, while BeryJ Gladys Morrin. aged 13, was horribly mauled and taken from the water in a critical condition., Doctors later amputated both her arms.
In each case men gallantly entered the water and helped the victims ashore.
