CIGARETTE BURNS
Ugly burn-marks sometimes appear on articles of furniture, such as mantel shelves, through cigarettes being put down carelessly.. These cigarette burns can frequently be successfully banished, or, at any rate, rendered hardly noticeable,; first with an application of cold tea and then by a good rubbing with linseed, oil. Sponge the affected part with strong; cold tea, and leave it to dry naturally before applying the linseed oil. Rub into the wood gently with a circular movement and apply liberally. Leave to soak well for 24 hours arid then'polish the wood in the i usual way.
