STOKES VALLEY
The Stokes Valley Women's? Institute recently held a dramatic afternoon, at which Mrs. Huse presided, i A delightful and amusing play, was produced by members of the Alicetown Women's Club. Those who took'part were Mesdames Henry, Bathurst, Melrose, Kay, McDougall. Mrs. Fenton and Miss Young also entertained with a humorous sketch, entitled v ''The "Breakfast Table."" ' -" .
All enjoyed a 'demonstration on papier mache, given by Mrs. Cobby. Those who assisted in the afternoon's entertainment were recipients of dainty "sweet" bouquets, the work of Mrs. Summers. > , i . Mrs. Bonthorne' and Mrs. - Melrose consented to represent the institute at the next council meeting, to be' held at Porirua. , " , Mrs. Cobby won the' competition for the best thrift article with delightful curtains' made from ■ furniture scrim. A pleasant afternoon terminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
