VERY GOOD SALE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, February 6. trices at today's wool sale were firm generally on recent rates, and the present outlook is that prices will remain fairly steady for the balance of the selling season an. New Zealand. In authoritative quarters the sale was considered to be a very good one. ■ . . . . The first sale in Dunedin in December, set a new level of prices which was again maintained m line with the auctions in northern centres.
A feature of the sale was the record price for a Dominion auction, this season 15% d being paid by a local mill for four bales of super combing fine halfbred ewe and wether grown by Mr. G. H. Elliot, of Roxburgh. He also realised 15% d for four bales of his Mount Benger wool. There was real animation in the bidding when wools of super quality -were reached with prices firm on recent auctions. There was nb cause whatever to be displeased with the sale, as the wool was heavier .in condition than that offered in De. cember. •
