HOW GERMANY DRINKS
Tho consumption of beer, brandy, and champagne has increased in Nazi Germany, as compared to tho years preceding tho Hitler iegimc. In tho year starting on October 1, 1933, and ending on September 30, 1934, approximately 820,000,000 gallons of beer were consumed, which is 7.2 per cent, more than in tho previous year -and 5 per cent, more than in the year 1931-32. Champagne consumption rose to 9,000,000 bottles in tho first ten months of the year. This is twice as much as m tho preceding year. The consumption of brandy increased by 15.3 per cent, compared to 1932-33, and by 47 per cent, compared to the year 1931-32.
