At the Sydney vyool' sales today; 11,767 bales were offered/ 11,144 being sold at auction; also 2569 bales were sold, privately. •.:'■' The" market was very firm, with prices at the best point of the week. Competition was strong and well distributed, with increased Continental support. Greasy merino -made. to 17% d. . ■ Messrs. H. Irvvell and Company, London, cable the following report and prices:—" As compared with opening prices of sale crossbred wool .values, while showing no quotable change, might be stated to be in buyers' favour. Russian '■■ competition was very keen, but Germany is only buying moderately. The following is the range, of prices in the saleroom:—sß's, lid; 56's, 10% d; 50's, <B%d; 48's, 7%d; 46's, 6 ]/6d; 44'5i.5%d:-. , ■,
