One. day this week; General Sir Alexander Godley,..who.is. at present Li Wellington, visited Mrs. H. M. Barnard, of Island Bay. Mrs. Barnard's family consisted- of eight sons, six of .whom,served in the Great War, four on Gallipoli at the one time. One was killed in action there and.anotlier in France. Notwithstanding the anxious period while, her sons were at .the war, Mrs. Barnard collected £700 for the Bed Cross, surely a record to be proud ot •■■■■-■■
