Slater, proprietor of shops, at Darinevirke arid Palmerston Northf who was accompanied by Miss' Florence Hislop, of Hastings, skidded on loose metal.early this morning at the1 new deviation on a hill near the northern approach to Dannevirke and capsized. ■- Mr. plater received severe head'injuries, and his condition is: critical.
