A-Makara resident gave evidence that he found Hie deceased lying dead, 'in the front seat of his taxi at the end.; of the: Makara; Beach - Jioad., ■ The doors' and,wiridows^^f tv tlie"car were:closed, the engine r was^ running, J and the car was full of fumes. ' : \ '■'-.'■•;.:;
"Other, evidence'showed that the 'deceased had left the taxi depot between: 1 arid-2 a.m.onthe 'morning? he died; having handed a friend an envelope which was. "not,to be, opened unless something r happened "to; him.". He seemed, normal then, but another witness stated that he had always seemed depressed, for no apparent reason. The envelope, contained' /the deceased's will and a letter. "I find that the deceased asphyxiated himself purposely by inhaling carbon monoxide gas while sitting in his closed car at Makara, Beach," said the Coroner (Mr. E. Gilbertson, J.P.) at. the conclusion of the inquest. ■ ' '
