A CLOSE SHAVE
MOTORrCAR: AND LORRY

MASTERTON, This Day.
The driver and two occupants of a car proceeding north' on Saturday night had a remarkable escape from serious injury when their motor-car came into collision with the side of a motorlorry proceeding in the opposite direction. The accident occurred on the main north road opposite the Opakt railway station at about 9 p.m.
The car was driven by Mr. C. M. McLachlan, of Chapel Street, Masterton, who was accompanied by' his wife and small son, and the lorry was driven by Mr. A. Craigie, of Solway. The lorry, it is alleged, swerved to avoid a cyclist, and the Var struck the side of the tray of the heavier vehicle. Practically the whole of the side of the car was torn ofi. Mr. McLachlan escaped injury, but his wife and son suffered cuts, from flying glass. The lorry was only, slightly damaged.
