Weil1 (Auckland)-will- not be 'available. ■ He .will:, be replaced,;by" V. Sale, also of. Auckland;'" '■-.-■..;". i

A Pieiss Association message iiom G'luislclmich atates that C. J. Ohiei. ]\I Giaham, and S. Elmes will t i enlace Page, Kobeits, and Dickinson.

Both teams Mill anive at Wellington eaily on Friday morning. The southerners will be accommodated at the Giand Hotel and the northemets at the Empiic. The sccietary ot the Xew Zealand Cricket Council (Air. W. 11. Wmsor) will act as manager for both teams.

The decision to play this match, which will bo the third of its kind, has aroused considerable interest and theie is no doubt that it will constitute a welcome addition to the engagements of an otherwise lean season. Though there were one or two playeis not available two strong teams have been chosen, and it is difficult to say which way the result will go. Sonic bright batting can be expected from Vivian, the North' Island captain, who is usually at his best on the J3a6m Reserve, Whitelaw, who created histoiy by scoring a century for Auckland in both innings of the recent PJunket Shield match against Wellington, and batsmen such as Ell, Tindill, Lamason. Wallace, and Sale. North's bowleis will include Blundell, who is well accustomed to the local" wicket, Cowie, Tricklebnnk, and Sharp, the lastnamed- a. young slow bowler fiom Gisborne. ~

The South Island has plenty o£ batting matenal 111 Page, Bellamy, Hadlee, Cromb, Kobeits, and others, and a solid attack headed by Aifdrens, Moloney, Dunning, and llobeits. Interest will also attach to the apppearance of Jackmnn, who was brought into the team as wicketkeepev, although he did not play in either of Canterbuiy'e Plunket Shield matches. The match will-Toe continued over three days, with the usual hours of play. Particulars are advertised in this issue.
