Bringing 6001b of air mail the new DIIB6 aoroplano for Qantas' Empire Airways arrivod at Darwin last evening with Captain Youell, an. Imperial Airways pilot, at the controls.. The maehino made the crossing of the Timor Sea in 3 hours 35 minutes, averaging H8 miles an hour.
Captain Youell said that tho acroplano gave no trouble. He left Paris exactly a fortnight ago. Tho maehino was tho srimo as tho other DHB6 aeroplanes which had been delivered to Quantns, oxcopt that the tail structures had been stronthenod and tho- wings fitied with' tho latest "flaps," which roduced landing speed and allowed landing on a smaller area.
