LONDON, January 23,

Tho Port of London Authority will shortly decido regarding two schemes for damming the Thames—one at Woolwich, costing £3,000,000, and the other at London Bridge, costing. £800,000— for the purpose of keeping the water at a constant level.

Mr. J. Bungo, the engineer responsible for the projects, states that tho London Bridge scheme would give ninetoen mijes of still water betweon London Bridge and Toddiugton, ._■ .and increase the width of water available for navigation. Ho suggests that a portion of tho increased fairway could be used for an airport in, the heart of London.

The Woolwich scheme would give the river a constant level 17ft'above the present low-water manic and 4ft bolow high-water mark, enabling all craft now using tho older docks and wharves to cntor tho river at low tide while all seagoing craft would remain water borne while in London unloading.
