Under continued dry and fast conditions several winding-up gallops wore performed on the Hawera tracks. Aga Khan and Diagauo ran. five furlongs on the plough in lmin ssec, lyjiero Diagano pulled up, Aga Khan finishing out the seven in lmiu 33sec. ,
Gold Gleam finished four' lengths in front of St. Clara over six furlongs in lmin 17sec. Gold Gleam shaped particularly well, but St.. Clara's showing was disappointing and too bad to be taken notice of.
Ingenuity was two lengths in front of Harvest Moon ,at the end" of five furlongs covered in. lmin'4Jsec. Harvest Moon refused to exert himself over the final stages and was not knocked about. . • ~.,
Fersen again went attractively, getting to the end of five furlongs ill lniin 3 2-ssee. v ■ ' '■'' ' Mr.-,T. O'Neill was present to see his colt Loweuberg worked, and with Friesland the youngster put' up a creditable, performance, finishing right up with his companion at the end of a Jialf^niile .gallop in a tick nn_der 50sec.' H. Johnston has arrived; in Hawera with his good-looking Rapier .gelding Reipar, who is engaged at Stratford. On Saturday morning he sprinted three furlongs-attractively in. 37sec. ' . Richfield jumped B a couple of hurdles cleverly, afterwards doing steady pace work. Carfcx and Fairfax were not galloped. Silver Wings is an unlikely starter at New Plymouth on account ,of the hard state of the going. Hawera horses likely to race well at New Plymouth are Friesland, Beau Star, Eichficld, Fersen, Lowenberg, St. Clara, Gold Gleam, and Silk Sox. liidcrs at New Plymouth include:— J.
