ROSE DAY APPEAL

' TOTAL OF OVER £400 I Over £400, was raised as a result of the Bose Day appeal in the city and ' outlying districts yesterday. In Wellington, £373 10s was collected, at Petona £8 12s 6Jd, and ati Eastbourne £15 Is 6d. The amounts collected at Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, and Ponrua have not yet been definitely notified to B.S.A. headquarters,' but it is known that the total at Lower Hutt was over £20. ,Mr. J. Spence, secretary of the Wellington E.S.A., today expressed the opinion that the result was excellent Considering the times. On behalf of the association he thanked tho'public for the>generous response given to the appeal, and also the women helpers for their/good work during the day.
