R.S.A. SMOKE CONCERT
PROPOSAL
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, October 30,
The view that returned soldiers were not being treated fairly in the arrangements for the visit of the Duke of Gloucester was expressed at a meeting of the cexcutive of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association.
Discussion arose when a letter from the Town Clerk was read advising the association that a smoke concert which tlie association proposed to hold in honour of the Duke had been deleted from the official Jist of engagements. Finally it was decided to make further efforts, and that the organisation committee should consider the question of arranging a smoke concert in honour of the Duke, even if he attended for only half an hour.
