PLIMMERTON'S SEASON

The opening of the Plinimerton Boating Club's season was held on Saturday last in perfect weather. The commodore, Mr. Burd, after apologising for tho absence of the president, Mr. K. L. Button, introduced tho vicepresident, Mr. ,T. Wallace. After an excellent speech, including references to his early days of yachting and some good advice for the benefit of the club, Mr. Wallace declared the 1934-35 season opened. Mrs. Wallace broke out tlio ilag to the breeze. . There was a large attendance, and good wishes for the club's coinins'soasor aiid kind remarks to the officials were expressed by tho following visitors:—Captain W. J. Keano, chairman of the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor-boat Association; Mr. Rollings, Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club; Mr. Ginders, Paremata Club; and Mr. Biddle, Heretaunga Club.
