HUTT HIGH SCHOOL
Tho monthly meeting o£ the lioavcl of governors of the Hutt Valley High School was' held last evening, Mr. J. C. Burns (acting chairman) presiding. ' It was reported that the net proceeds from' the recent concert were £4S 8s 4d, being £4 more than last year. Mr. D. A. Ewen was thanked for the gift of six volumes of "European History" to the school.
It %vas decided that the school should be represented at a Wellington gathering of schools to welcome tho Duke of Gloucester.
■ The principal reported that on discovering v crack in the school parapet, presumably caused by an earthquake, ho had immediately communicated the fact to the Education Department. It was decided to lay 300 feet of %-inch pipe to water the sports grounds.
The annual breaking-up ceremony was fixed for December 14.
The late principal, Mr. IT. P. Kidson, in reply to a request, stated that ho was forwarding a photo of himself lo bo hung in the school.
