MODEL ENGINEERING

At tho sixth annual meeting of tho Wellington Model Engineering Society, held on Tuesday evening, Mr. A. F. Brasch presided over a large attendance. The annual report stated that the society had made progress during the year, and that there had been an increase in the membership. The relations with the Palmerstpn North Model Engineering Society hud been furthered, and this year marked the commencement of the challenge shield competition between the two societies. In this contest the societies enter an equal number of models which are judged at the same time as the other model exhibits at the Easter show. Wellington had been successful in winning the shield this year, stated the report, but competition promised to be very keen next year. The society had also presented to tho Palmerstoii North Society the Goodwill Cup, which is to be awarded annually to tho most progressive member. i During the year a cup was donated to the society for model speed boats, either petrol or steam driven, and this is to be contested for prior to the next Easter show.

The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. A. F. Brasch; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. M. Leaman and C. Kirkland; chairman, Mr. V. Roberts; vicechairman, Mr. 11. S. Williams; secretary, Mr. L. S. K. Murray; assistant secretary, Mr. W. K. Dickie; treasurer, Mr. J. H. Skelley; committee, Messrs. N.- Wiseman, R. A. Bell, J. Boyes, D. J. MeGinnity, C. J. Morton; librarian, Mr. R. S. Rutherford.
