SUVA, October 22,
Heavy rains at Suva are delaying Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's departure. However, weather permitting, ho hopes to leave on Wednesday morning for Naselai Beach, where he will refuel and depart about noon.
Ho is considering the possibilities of lauding at Fanning Island, 1200 miles from Suva, where there is a good hardsand landing place 1000 yards long and 300 yards wide, with good night lighting. * .
On arriving at San Francisco he will endeavour to sell the aeroplane to repay his backers, and return by steamer to Australia, but there is a remote possibility that he may continue the flight across the Atlantic.
Albert Park today was under water.
