NELSON, October 20,
A sharp drop in temperature occurred yestorday afternoon, and in the evening there was a steady two hours fall of ram which cleared the air and brought October's total to 6.15 in. The Maungatapu and the Dun Mountain received an appreciable coating of snow, while a very light fall also took placo on the Fringe. Past experience has shown that a cold snap in mid-October is not altogether unusual. Today was beautifully fine.
Tho Rev. H. Lcggate, M.C., of Manchester, one of the world leaders of Toe H, and for two years padre to tho Toe H movement in New Zealand, is visiting the Nelson groups. Mr. AY. H. Lyons, of Nelson, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Christchurch as senior inspector of the Otago Farmers' Union Insurance Association. Ho will be succeeded hero by Mr. T. H. Robinson, of Dunedin.
