OFF TO RUSSIA

DELEGATES FROM NEW

ZEALAND

Mr.. P. E. Warner, boilernmker at the Hutt railway shops, hixs been finally selected as the railway workers' delegate to visit the Soviet Union and investigate conditions of the workers in Russia. Mr. Warner has had long experience in workers' organisations. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Petone Technical College, and is also secretary of the Central Bowling Club, Petone. The workers' delegation, consisting of Messrs. Max Risko, M.A., of Wellington, and P. S. Warner, leaves New Zealand on October 27 by the Bcmuera from Auckland.

Toronto, but that doos not account for the weakness of the New York stock market as compared with Toronto. Gold mining in Ontario is booming _at tho present time largely as a result* of tho extremely ridiculous gold policy of tho United States Government.

As against this serious present state of affairs, ono must offset the tremendous natural resources and productive capacity of this country. That remains practically unimpaired. When' the wheels of industry really begin to move again, there is no reason why the people of this country should not be more prosperous than ever before. It is a very interesting time to be living. Since 1914 there has been more change than during almost any other period of the world's history. As a result of scientific progress, distance hns practically melted away, so that we are living in a world which is now very closely knit together. The capitalistic industrial system has probably reached its climax. Honceforth, big business units will dominate- the stage. Cities will probably not got much l:irgoi-. As a. result ■of the development of electric power, factories in the future will bp located in smaller towns. I wonder what tho next.twenty years will bring forth.
