STRAY NOTES
The date of the annual meeting of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre has been fixed for October 2.9, and is to be hold ia the Dominion Farmers' Institute at 7.30 p.m.
■In view of tho fact that tho New Zealand championships aro to be held hi Wauganui this season improvements made at Cook's Gardens are of interest. The oval has been put in order as a result of representations mado by the Wangunui Athletic Club, and it is considered now to be in first-class shape for running and cycling.
Tho two miles clash between Wilson, the Whangarei runner, and Savidan on Labour Day is creating keen interest, states tho "Now Zealand Herald," Auckland.
The Wellington Club onco again -will be opening its season with a korero, which this year is to be held on tho Winter Show grounds on November 3. All members arc asked to attend and bring their parents and friends, and so help lo make the gathering a great success. , i
