RUGBY, October 16.
A memorial to Captaia Cook, whose! nt>table voyages of discovery added a new continent to the British JSuipire, was unveiled in his native village, Great Ayton, Yorkshire, yesterday. Thej memorial takes the form of an obelisk of Australian granite.
The cottage in which Captain Cookl was born in humble circumstances has been shipped to Australia and re-erected! in Melbourne iv connection, with tlMfr Vietoriau Centenary celebrations.
