SOLARIUM'S POPULAR WIN
The trainer W. V. Stone received many congratulations after winning the Mitehelson Cup with Solarium last Saturday, his success being particularly pleasing because he has had a number of reverses with the horse, and himself had nut been in good health. It was the first time Stone bad trained the winner of this race, but during his long career he has had many important victories, the most recent being the Auckland Cup with Motero in 193.0. Stone at present resides at Hamilton, but he has been going to To Awamutu three times a week to work Solarium, with happy results.
Solarium is held on lcaee by Stone from the breeder, Mr. 11. G. Hosking, of Whangarei. Mr. Ilosking . has two other of Sunbar's progeny, namely, Rudabe, a three-year-old filly 'by Chief Ruler, and a two-year-old gelding by Paladin, who as yet is unbroken. Sunbar (the dam of Solarium) is in foal again to Paladin, and is 'at the Mardella Stud.
