SIRE'S SPLENDID RECORD
Xho defunct sire Chief I'uler. whotfedeath occurred only thiti year, has a remarkable record in the A.R.C. Welcome Stakes, his progeny having been successful in six of the last seven contests. The first winner of the race sired by Chief Ruler was Supremacy in 1925. The next was Royal Ruler, in 1029, and since then there have been Rippling Waters iv 103 - Princess vDore'en, who dead-heated with' Diatomous, in 1932, Mother Superior in 1933, and Galilee this year.
Chief Ruler was remarkably successful as a sire of speed, and his loss was a severe one for Mr. J. Donald, of the Westmere Stud, Wanganui. The last of Chief Ruler's progeny are this season's foals.
