AN APT REPLY

A hearty laugh was raised at today's meeting of the Wellington Education Board during a discussion on the treatment of Wellington in connection with tho provision of a training college for teachers. One member was holding forth at some length on Wellington being loft out in the cold, and referred to what was acquired by other centres. "And what does Wellington get?" he wound up. . The answer quickly came from another part of the room: "Wind, and plenty o£ it!" The qualification was added that nothing personal was intended.
