TURNED DOWN

"LIVING FLAG" REQUEST

The application of the Carillon committee for the presentation of a "living flag" and the donation of proceeds to the Carillon Society was declined by the Education Board today.

Mr. C. 11. Nicholls protested against the exploitation of children for the raising of funds for such purposes.

The Show Association is to bo informed that the board regrets that it cannot see its way to approve of primary school children under its jurisdiction taking part in the suggested pageant of youth.

Approval was refused by the board to the British Empire Films, Ltd., to hold an essay competition in the schools.
