BEAU GALLANTE LAME

(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMEKSTON *?., This Day. Beau Gnllante, topweight with Hunting Jay in the Bimutaka Hack Handi-

cap at the Wellington Meeting, was recently taken in hand by his ownertrainer, G. W. New, at Awapuni, tnc Australian-bred gelding not having

raced since he met with his accident when entering upon a racing campaign in the land of his birth, but it is now doubtful whether he will go to the post on Saturday, for after galloping last Saturday.morning he developed signs of lameness. It is hoped that the mishap may not prove really serious, but it is hardly possible that he will be anything like his old self even if produced on Saturday.
