ISLAND BAY CLUB
The seventeenth annual opening of the Island Bay Bowling Club's greens was attended by about 250 members and friends. The president, Mr. D. H. Taylor, conoratulated the green superintendent and the greeukeeper on the state of the green, and voiced the regret of the club at the passing of two members, the late Messrs. W. G. Mouldey and G. K. Broadbent. He expressed sympathy with Messrs. J. O'Donnell and D. Mitchell, who are both m hospital, and remarked that, unfortunately, their oldest member, Mr. J. McKay, was absent because of indisposition. Mr. Taylor announced that the club had acquired ten new members this season and its membership was now 80. Mr R. McKeen, M.P., congratulated the president on the state of the club in every way, and remarked that whenever he visited the club he was always impressed with the friendly atmosphere. The president's mother, Mrs. 1. laylor, sent up the first kitty and Mr. D. Munro the first bowl.
