A sentence ot' fourteen days' imprisonment was*imposed upon Walter Hobert Page, aged 4S, a labourer, for a fourth atauilory offence of drunkenness. Cecilin Old, aged 40, was convicted and discharged for drunkenness, and was convicted mid ordered to make good the. damage on a charge of wilfully damaging a mattress valued at 10s 9d, the property of the New Zealand Government. Stated by Sub-Inspector C. E. Koach to have a very long list of previous convictions, Henry Edward Jefferd, aged 64, a. labourer, was sentenced to two months' imprisonment for breaking a, window, valued at £28, the property of Gates, Ltd. The Sub-Inspector said that the accuse/I had thrown a etqne through the window of Gates, Ltd., in Willis Street, at about 7.30 o'clock last night. He did it, he said, because eomeone connected with the establishment had given evidence against him aud got him three days in gaol. I'leadinff guilty to fighting in Beanchamp Street, Karori, two young men, Walter John Uobb and William Henry Knight, were each fined £1. The Magistrate refused to suppress their namen.
