LONDON, September 28,
The "Sun-Herald" learns that the Government is budgeting for substantial increases in the three fighting services during the ensuing year. Involving a five-year national defence scheme, it is mainly the outcome of the failure of the Disarmament Conference.
The scheme is importantly related to the visit to the Dominions of Sir Maurice Hankey, Secretary of the Committee of Imperial Defence, and also to the Dominion Prime Ministers' Imperial defence discussion* during the jubilee visit.
