BRITISH MOTOR TRADE
GENERAL IMPROVEMENT
(BclUsb Official (VlrekM.)
BUGBY, September 27. British motor manufacturers report exceptional and quite unprecedented interest being shown in the 1935 models recently announced. As an indication one leading firm says its export orders have increased by 35 per cent., aud another 34 per cent, on those received in the corresponding period last year. In 1933 British motor-cars exported reached a total value of £6,740,584, and it is already known that the figure for 1034 will bo very much larger. This year's international motor show will open at Olympia, London, on October 11. Oho of the features of this year's models will be their silence, combined with speed. Most manufacturers have como to the conclusion that the day of tho "healthy sports note," once in such demand by the younger school of drivers, is definitely over—perhaps because it made them so unpopular with their elders.
